Objective
In collaboration with Zeal and Notion, Jayanagar Majilpur and Vedaantic Organic Research Foundation, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Deborshi De, a new project Arohini has been started. The primary objective of this initiative is to give the women of remote villages of Sundarbans who are quite skilled in various forms of handicrafts. Even with their expertise, these women find it difficult to get paid fairly for their work.
Prof. Dr Deborshi De has understood their challenges and given us some useful insights as to how they can use their craftsmanship to make their income sustainable. We want to help these brilliant women achieve financial independence so that their skills are properly recognized.
We also made an effort as part of our outreach to distribute some of the essential supplies to some of the local villagers through Zeal and Notion. It was not a mere act of helping; it was a small step towards creating a strong and long lasting relationship with the community. We hope that by providing these resources, we can build a foundation of trust and collaboration that can lead to other initiatives that will lead to true change in their life.
